Operations

This section refers to the people and resources that are necessary to keep the Signal Hill Fire Department functioning efficiently.  The most important and irreplaceable asset to the department is the people.  Signal Hill has both Active and Associate members.  Active members of the department are the members who respond to emergencies on behalf of the department.  Associate members are support personnel performing a wide variety of services from helping with fundraisers to administrative help.

Apparatus refers to the vehicles that respond to emergencies.  We are very proud of our apparatus and work hard maintaining them so they are always 911 ready.  The Apparatus page will give you an overview of each piece of equipment but is far from a complete inventory of what they carry.

A look at the Engine House page will give you an idea of where we came from.  Some pictures of the current and older firehouses from over the year show progressive evolution of our station.

Training is very important to teach new volunteers the basics as well as teaching advanced tactics and strategy to more seasoned members.  It is the goal of the Signal Hill Fire Department to provide firefighters with  the highest level of training possible.  Our Training page has some pictures and more detailed information about our training.
