Since early in the history of the fire department, the Signal Hill Firefighters have held a fundraising event for the department.  Until 1988, this was the famous Signal Hill Firefighters Picnic.  Those who attended had great times and still have fond memories of the picnic.  We are still asked "when is the picnic".  Well, 1988 was the last year of the picnic as we knew it. 

In 1989, the firefighters changed the format of the fundraiser to what is today known as "Ribs & Raffle".  Each year, raffle tickets are sold for a variety of prizes and the firefighters cook over 350 sides of ribs that are sold.  The "secret" of the sauce from the days of the picnic has not changed to the way the ribs are being cooked today.

All proceeds from Ribs & Raffle are used for equipment and training for the Signal Hill Fire Department. 

"Ribs & Raffle" is held the last Sunday in June. Mark your calender today for next years event!
