Since its inception in 1946, the Signal Hill Fire Department has strived for improvement. Through the support of the community and dedication of the volunteer members we have earned an ISO Class 3 rating. Signal Hill is one of only a few volunteer departments in the state to reach this rating and we are proud of the accomplishment. We also realize that the level of service of an ISO 3 department is expected to be one of dedication and commitment and we will continue to work with that in mind.

TORNADO SIRENS SOUNDING - CLICK ON THIS LINK FOR MORE INFORMATION

When you hear tornado sirens sounding, you should immediately take cover in the safest location available. Lower floors or a basement are generally safer and inside rooms or hallways away from windows. Sirens are not normally sounded in St. Clair County for severe thunderstorm warnings, but these can often produce large hail, damaging winds in excess of 60 miles per hour, and intense lightning. Intense rain may result in flash flooding and you should not drive through water flowing across the road. TURN AROUND, DON'T DROWN.
